We will get you connected.
Most problems come down to the network, the account, or the device limit. Start here — then write to us if it is none of them.
Getting started
What do I need to install?
Two things: the ZRemote app on your Android phone, and the ZRemote Control program on the Windows PC you want to control. The Windows program is a single self-contained .exe — you do not need to install .NET separately. It runs in the system tray and can start with Windows.
How do I link my phone to my PC?
Create a ZRemote Cloud account on the PC, then sign in to the same account in the phone app. With both devices on the same Wi-Fi, your PC appears in the list on its own — tap it and you are in control. There is no router configuration and no port forwarding.
Do I need an account just to use it on my own Wi-Fi?
Yes. The account is what makes only your own PCs appear in the list, instead of every computer on the network. It is also what carries your plan and your device limit.
Connection
The app does not find my PC
Check that both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network — a phone on mobile data or a guest network cannot see the PC. Some routers block broadcast between devices ("AP isolation" or "client isolation"); turn it off, or use "Connect by IP" with the PC address instead. Confirm the tray icon is running on the PC and that both are signed in to the same account.
It finds the PC but refuses to connect
The account on the phone and on the PC must be the same. If you recently reinstalled the PC app, its certificate changed and the phone will refuse the connection to protect you — remove the PC from the list on the phone and connect again to trust the new certificate. Also check whether the device limit for your plan has been reached.
Windows Firewall is asking for permission
Allow it on private networks. ZRemote uses UDP 45455 for discovery, TCP 45454 for commands and TCP 45456 for screen streaming. If you dismissed the prompt, add the exception manually in Windows Defender Firewall.
Can I use it away from home?
ZRemote first tries a direct encrypted route to your PC. When your network or your carrier blocks that, it falls back to a relay through ZRemote Cloud — still encrypted end to end, so the traffic passes through without being readable. Remote use over the internet depends on your plan.
Streaming
The screen stream is choppy
Lower the quality in the selector at the top of the streaming screen, move closer to the router, and prefer 5 GHz Wi-Fi. Current capture runs at roughly 7–12 fps by design; hardware capture with H.264 is on the roadmap.
How many frames per second should I expect?
Around 7 to 12 at high quality, using GDI capture with JPEG frames. That is enough to check on something, drive a media player or fix a setting — it is not built for gaming, and we would rather give you the real number than a marketing one.
Can I control the PC while watching the screen?
Yes. The streaming view has floating mouse and keyboard controls that you can drag wherever your thumb is, so you are not switching back and forth between tabs.
ZDrop and clipboard
What is ZDrop?
File transfer between your phone and your PC, both ways. Pick a file on the phone and send it, or send from the PC and accept it on the phone. The receiving side always confirms before anything is written.
Where do received files go?
On the phone, to the folder you choose when you accept the transfer; the app can open it straight away. On the PC, to the folder shown in the transfer dialog.
Is my clipboard history stored anywhere else?
No. ZDrop history and clipboard history live in the app on your phone, are capped in size, and are never uploaded. Clipboard content frequently holds passwords and tokens, so nothing about it leaves the device.
Account and devices
How many computers can I link?
Free links one computer, Plus links two and Premium links five. The limit counts computers linked to your account — there is no separate cap on how many phones or tablets you use to control them.
How do I free a slot?
Open your account area on this site, go to Devices, and remove the computer you no longer use. The slot is free immediately.
I forgot my password
Use "Forgot password?" on the sign-in screen. You will receive a single-use link that expires quickly. If the message does not arrive, check spam and confirm you are using the address the account was created with.
Someone else may have my password
Change it in your account area, then use "Sign out everywhere". That revokes every token on every device, including any the other person is holding.
How do I delete my account?
From the account deletion page on this site. It explains exactly what is removed, what billing records the law requires us to keep, and what to do if you can no longer sign in.
Plans and billing
Where do I subscribe?
Inside the Android app. Subscriptions are sold through Google Play, which shows the price, the billing period and any free-trial terms before you confirm. Nothing is sold on this website.
I subscribed but the app still shows the free plan
Make sure the phone is signed in to the same ZRemote account you used when subscribing, and that the Google account in the Play Store is the one that made the purchase. Then reopen the app so it can re-check with the server. If it still does not appear after a few minutes, write to us with the date of purchase.
How do I cancel?
In Google Play, under Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future charges and the plan keeps working until the end of the period you already paid for. Cancelling a subscription does not delete your account, and deleting your account does not cancel a subscription.
How do refunds work?
Google took the payment, so refunds are handled by Google under the Google Play refund policy. If a refund is granted, the plan drops back to Free.
